    E85 is the term for motor fuel blends of 85 percent ethanol and just 15 percent gasoline. E85 burns up to 70% cleaner making it better for the environment. It is also 105 octane making it easier to use in higher compression engines.

  4. How much energy is used to create ethanol?
    There are many rumors of how it takes much more energy to create ethanol than what you get out of it. We have researched the information and found it to be exactly the opposite. Modern day Ethanol plants produce ethanol at about a 35% increase in energy created over energy consumed. We have also researched the production of gasoline and found that there is a 15% decrease in energy created over energy consumed.
  5. Does ethanol harm the worlds food supply?
    Ethanol does not harm food supplies. This is a large misconception. The ethanol process used animal feed grade corn. During the ethanol production they grind the feed corn. After grinding the fermentation process removes the starches and oils from the corn. At the end of production there are 3 products; ethanol, corn oil and high grade feed corn (distillers grain). By making ethanol we are creating a fuel and a better feed for animals.

Many people are running up to 50% blend of ethanol in everyday vehicle and have had great success. Many of these rumors also come from confusing ethanol with methanol.
